I’ve got a stack of HTML and CSS books from over the past few year because I really wanted to be good at Web Design – but none of them really taught me to understand how to build what I wanted. These huge books were better as paperweights as they always seemed too complicated to build a site that I always thought was simple. I’ve taken classes on HTML and CSS and even tried learning it on my own, but nothing could really help me. Almost every HTML book taught the basics, but made them complicated and they were terrible design-wise. Matt’s book doesn’t focus on the meaningless junk that fills other coding books, it focuses on the things you need to create a site, gives you a strong foundation to build off of, and the methods he uses make it so simple. Matt has a way of making complex things simple and instantly usable. I recommend this book to anyone and can’t wait for more!
